The Show

The biker community as a whole is arguably the most philanthropic group around. Yes, that black leather wearing, tattoo clad rebel probably donates more time and money to worthy causes than the average affluent charitable donor. The Wish Riders television special is a new 1-hour program being produced for network television that plans to showcase this nobility and the brotherhood of two wheels.

The Wish Riders theme is inspired by the Wish that started the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In 1980, a group of volunteers banded together to recognize 7-year old Chris Grecius as the State of Arizona's first and only honorary Motorcycle Patrolman while the boy valiantly fought leukemia. After hearing of the little boy's wish, State Troopers and even the roughest of bikers decided they wanted to give hope to other kids facing life threatening illness and a motorcycle rally provided the very first fundraiser for the newly formed Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Producers of Wish Riders are intent on creating a television program that delivers the adventure and American landscape of feature films such as Easy Rider and Wild Hogs while also showcasing noble initiatives along the lines of television’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Wish Riders is produced by a team of entertainment industry veterans including; a former CEO of MGM Television and VP of specials for the ABC network, a retired chief of global marketing for the syndicator of Oprah, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy (King World), a U.S. cabinet recognized leader in cause-related television programming as well as the Producer and Director of numerous blockbuster Hollywood feature films such as The Fast and the Furious.

In connection with the Wish Riders television show, a series of charity motorcycle rallies (Wish Rides) are being developed across the country with local chapters of The Make-A-Wish Foundation® and other worthy causes. Many of these events will be featured within the Show, all of which will utilize the latest website and cell phone technologies to enable participants or Wish Riders to raise donations to benefit the featured charity. A former Make-A-Wish executive will serve as the Executive Director of the Wish Riders benefit with a founder of Make-A-Wish also serving as the Chairman of the Foundation.

About Wish Riders

If you’re a rider, then you already know about the brotherhood of those who take to the open road. Those from a four-wheeled background may have seen the way we always acknowledge another biker, never turning our back from trouble or leaving behind another who’s down. Our program was formed with this spirit. The Wish Riders Foundation is a new organization with pending Federal non-profit 501(c)(3) status that was established to benefit worthy causes important to the motorcycle culture.

The Wish Riders Foundation administers, insures and operates motorcycle rallies that may benefit charities such as The Make-A-Wish Foundation®, autonomous local chapters of Make-A-Wish and/or other duly licensed charities. However, Wish Riders is not owned or otherwise affiliated with these organizations,
